FAQ’s
Are your team qualified?
Finding Personal Trainer’s and Complementary Therapists that have the right training and experience can be a minefield. Rest assured that we have taken great care to ensure that each member of our team is appropriately qualified and experienced. All our Personal Trainers are qualified to level 3 in Personal Training so they know exactly what you need to do in order to realise your goals. All our practitioners and therapists have been correctly trained to ensure they operate effectively and safely whilst ensuring you get the very best from their treatments.
Do I need to be fit to go?
EQ’s Retreats have been designed to accommodate all levels of fitness. As long as you are in good health, your level of fitness will not matter. One of our Personal Trainers will speak to every guest on arrival so they can understand what levels of activity you are currently used to and adjust your programme for the week accordingly. We normally find that people are surprised at how far they can push themselves.
How much weight will I lose whilst I’m at the Retreat?
Our primary focus is helping people understand what a healthy lifestyle looks like and encouraging practical ways to achieve it. We do not condone drastic weight loss programmes, rather looking at healthy weight loss methods. However, if your weight is currently higher than it should be then you are likely to lose weight during your stay. And, having taken control of your health during the Retreat will continue to lose weight at a healthy rate long after your stay.
Who attends EQ’s Retreats?
We welcome anybody over the age of 18 to our Retreats.
What are the maximum numbers?
In order to ensure each person gets the individual and personalised attention they deserve we restrict the numbers, on our five retreats, to one of the lowest in the industry - 16.
What is the Accommodation Like?
Considerable time and care is taken in choosing our venues for EQ. The accommodation is set in the most beautiful and relaxing surroundings and selected based on the very best levels of comfort and luxury, whilst still providing our guests with maximum value for money.
What will I need to bring?
We’ll send you a kit list of all the things you’ll need, depending on the time of year, when you book.
Will I have to share a room?
We offer a range of options from single, twin and some triple rooms, with double rooms available for couples. Prices vary based on the number of people sharing. People attending on their own can, where availability allows, choose whether to share or have a single room. Most of our guests share with people they’ve not met before and often end up forming good friendships with other guests. All shared rooms are single sexed occupancy.
Will I get hungry?
We do not restrict our guests’ calorie intake to unsustainably low levels. Our portion sizes are similar to that which you should be eating at home when leading a healthy lifestyle. This not only gets you used to eating and recognising these amounts, but it also means that you are not craving your next meal for your entire stay. If weight loss is one of your goals we will help you understand the best eating habits for continued weight loss. This does not mean going hungry but it does mean making the right choices.
What happens when I leave?
We truly believe that our Retreats are the start of a new you. As a result you will leave with a fitness plan for the two months after your stay. You will also leave with all the recipes for the meals you’ve eaten during your stay and a healthy snack to get you home. If you have any queries or questions or are just in need of some motivation, feel free to call us any time before or after your stay.
